H/T Jeffrey Smith;)

Please let me explain:

I followed your amazon link of Harnoncourt's Miss a Solemnis in the Listening thread, saw this listed and placed the order!  Thanks.  :D

Do you have this recording, Jeffrey?

Added the Missa Solemnis to the wishlist too!

I think I have it, but if I do, it made no impression on me.

Aase´s Death with the spoken dialogue between Peer and his dying mother literally brought tears in my eyes.

Is there a recording with the spoken dialogue included? I love the music from Grieg's Gynt, and would love to hear it with the dialogue.

Don't know too much about Quincy Porter, but the audio samples sounded quite nice. I read his string quartets are superb. I might need to check those out as well at some point.

This is the one I have:

A super bargain at JPCde, ordered right away, for I have no idea how long this Warner box deals are in action.

I've always had great respect for Paddington because he is amusingly English and a eccentric bear He is a great British institution and emits great wisdom with every growl. Of course I have Paddington at home, he is a member of the family, sure he is from the moment he was born. We have adopted him.

If it makes you feel better, I've spent half of my 2017 budget. Oops!

I don't think your buying system would work for me at all.

Yes, that's the one. I have an aversion to the concept of owning a bunch of music that I've never listened to. If I listen to 1 set (1-2 discs) most days then I'll get through it in 2-3 months. I've done that for the last few big boxes I bought.

More Liszt symphonic music for my collection....

Ghost Sonata

Hoping a (premature) post in this thread will be bring me luck Friday.  The LAST thing I need is another integral of Beethoven piano sonatas, BUT I love Kempff's pianism and there's a used set at a local book/cd shoppe, already preisgünstig and a 20% labor day sale upcoming.  Wish me luck.

I like Conor71's "I  like old Music" signature.

Found the Peer Gynt performance from this set on Spotify, 8 tracks in I went straight to Amazon and ordered it! Just what I was looking for. Thanks, again!
It reminded me of some other great works/recordings with spoken dialogue, Mendelssohn's Midsummer Night's Dream, Mozart's Magic Flute, and Weill's Threepenny Opera. Made it up to Act III, want to wait until I get the CD and get a complete run through.

I am in a similar situation. And the doubles are beautifully packaged, so it's great you could get them. I thought they were mostly out of print.
I am also not enthusiastic about all of their Haydn; e.g. I find the Mosaiques' op.20 better. As I still could not be bothered to get any of the newish "London Haydn Quartet" series on hyperion, the Festetics opp.9 and 17 are still my only HIP recordings of these pieces and they are pretty good. Of the rest I have heard (all but opp.33+42, 76+77 where I simply had to many recordings already), my favorite is probably their op.50.
