Ordered from mdt:

[asin]B073SMTG8P[/asin]

On a scale from 1 to 10 regarding off-the-beaten-track-ness, those ones probably get 8 - 9 ;D

Bargain hunting the last few days - for one last times in a real brick & mortar shop, which doesn't feel as online bargain hunting.... 8)

This is the same Zipoli I recommended for his sacred music a few weeks ago. A fine composer.

As for many others here, the price couldn't be beat ... so, naturally, being a faithful GMGer, I succumbed. It's on its way to me now.

Aaaaaand, with the blame credit going to Presto Classical and its current box set sale:

And, just arrived:

What's really bad is that I think there are other things coming to me in addition to these, and I don't even remember what they are ... ??? ::) :D

I have my eye on the Rachmaninov box and had just added it to my wish-list prior to your post - will be interested to read what you think of it.
The Herreweghe box looks very appealing too.

Baroque music deficient is in my library.  Purchased the following to help fill it out.

The Rach box (8 CDs) is only $18 at Presto Classical! Grab it while you can! (I haven't received it yet and can't comment on any of the performances, but at only slightly more than $2 a disc, why not take a chance?)

Thanks. I do try to keep an open mind about every era and style. :)

LOL, thanks - I'm planning to buy the box as soon as funds allow (hopefully that will be before the Presto offer ends). :)
Also intend to pick up the Walcha/Bach box and the latest re-issue of the François/Chopin recordings at some stage.

Thanks for the observation.  It will probably take awhile to check all of this fine music out.  I have several big sets I am going through.  I have another set of baroque music which I am going through.  I am discovering the music of Purcell and WOW!!!

Last night from Arkivmusic. The Bennett is technically a pre-order, release date is this coming Friday.

And finally, this one.  Harry, do you about this one (released last January)?

André

I didn't have that one (obviously) and, just as obviously, I had to add it to my collection: stellar soloists and one of the great choral ensembles.

Music for a capella choir.

A rarely heard composer of the first rank.

The pics should help identify the composers. Music for violin and piano.

Todd

More bargain basement shopping.  The last three discs are all devoted to contemporary compositions and came in at three bucks a pop, so if they are dreadful, to the Goodwill they go.

I totally missed that one! It is on my next order list. Thank you for alerting this one to me.
The Cabezon you ordered is really good.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

As far as you keep your car windows closed... otherwise people could think you are strangling a woman in your car (listen to the beginning)
