Parsifal

I have long owned the other two editions in this series of 3 CDs. Somehow I missed this one before it went out of print.  Finally got a used copy at a price which, while high, was not insane.  Worth it.

Every once in a while, an affordable used copy of one of the long OOP CDs of the Bruno Maderna series on the Arkadia label surfaces in Amazon (through MP sellers). Today I struck gold with this volume dedicated to Ravel:

Two great sets.

That's good to know - actually I have opened the Prokofiev box already and the first disc has been in the CD player quite a bit this weekend. Naturally I'm hoping that the 'modern lied' disc is good too - it certainly got a good review recently in the 'Grauniad'.

Also just purchased (I wasn't very sure how many images I could have per 'post'):

In a very recent blind testing of 30 versions on a french music forum, Ozawa came on top over all other contenders (runner-up: Chailly in Cleveland. Boulez was ditched in the preliminary rounds). I figured I might as well give it a try!

I need this, and I doubt it will come cheaper than what it sells for right now.

Not being a Beethoven sonatas collector, I figured I could indulge in this, my 3rd integral set. At 2.79€, the decision was easy  :D.

There's no such limit. Those others look good too - Chansons de Bilitlis must be one of the more urgent holes in my Debussy collection, and I don't have any Walton on disc apart from the Cello Concerto. And I definitely need recordings of the Strauss operas eventually. . .

I don't care about youtube. It's temporary and transient by nature.

I believe you can download the files, making them permanent.  The big labels are keeping files up for years, which seems something other than transient.

I don't believe --- I know.  :)

Let's see, I need water, food and sleep.  A box set of Koechlin?  Don't think so.

:D
