Nice haul, Paul! The HvK recording of Honegger's Symphonies Nos. 2 & 3 is a classic.

Some good looking stuff there.  And several are recordings I did not know existed!

My dad got this recording of Der Tag des Gerichts for me almost 40 years ago, and I reacquired it on CD recently. I realized I still knew most of it by heart. A wonderful work...

That day, fortunately for all for us, seems to be very, very far away...  ;D

THREAD DUTY:

I have enjoyed all of Claude Helffer's recordings I've come across, so when I saw these at bargain basement prices, I went for them:

This 3-CD collection (I already have the Bartók, but I can find a new home for it)...

...and this Ravel CD,

And a Milhaud-fest from JPC (these sets might go OOP - one never knows, do one?):

Hi, John!

One of the CDs in that twofer was IIRC the first CD of Martinu's music I ever bought, in its original guise:

It remains one of my favourite Martinu CDs (which really doesn't mean much since, as you know, I've never really warmed that much to his music  :-[).

Great to hear, Rafael. Karlo (North Star) spoke great things of the disc with the Double Concerto, so that's now a positive vote for both discs. 8) Speaking of Conlon's Martinu, Scarpia spoke greatly about his disc on Capriccio (with works such as Memorial to Ludice and first and second Concertino for Piano Trio and String Orchestra). It's a shame you don't care much for Martinu, but that's okay. We're all wired differently. :)

A lot of purchases recently Que. Enjoy  8)

I know that you will enjoy the Bach Motets and the Hume CD. My advice would be to buy the Hume Vol. II blind asap, you will buy it anyway later on if you do not own it already as the collection is very interesting  ;)

I hope you enjoy Milhaud's music more than I have, Rafael, although I enjoy the PCs much more than his symphonies.

I would like to tackle Berg's opera Lulu but I know that I will have some difficulty with it. However, someone here recently advised [apologies but I cannot remember who it was] that in this situation one would be advised to get the Lulu-Suite. I have taken that advice....

Parsifal

You might also consider a video rather than an audio recording. Being able to see the action may help you make more sense of it (it does for me).

There are many versions available. This one seems to be close to consensus (not that it is necessarily the best, but that it is good).

That would have been me.  I'm more happy to be listened to and not remembered than remembered and not listened to, so no offense taken whatsoever!
"l do not consider my music as atonal, but rather as non-tonal. I feel the unity of all keys. Atonal music by modern composers admits of no key at all, no feeling of any definite center." - Arnold Schoenberg

A good suggestion also so thank you for that.
