Interesting... I have a set of Joseph Schmidt's Telefunken recordngs. I didn't know there was an EMI set. I wonder if they are the same recordings and how they overlap?

Thanks ! That's 4 discs altogether. Mine is a double album from Telefunken Legacy claiming to contain « The Ultraphon recordings ».



I guess they're competing issues, then. Schmidt was amazingly popular in Germany and made records like there was no tomorrow. Which was the case for him, alas  :(.

Reviews are very good for these small orchestra arrangements. I'm intrigued.

This edition is with a paper  libretto.. There  is a more  recent edition with a red color but  you have  to download  the libretto.

I ordered the Warner Messiaen box,29 euro.it's now 66 euro !  :o You never know with happens with the price so I purchased it quickly. :)
