Ah, looking forward to listening to her! So you are a Gounod fan, André?

Not a diehard fan, but one would be tone deaf not to recognize him as an excellent composer. BTW this is my latest purchase:

Excerpts from Faust sung in German. Nicolai Gedda, Edda Moser, DFD (as Valentin) and Kurt Moll in mephistophelic form. Conducted by Giuseppe Patané (+ ballet music as a filler). Hard to find and expensive here in North America. I bit the bullet.

I noticed that 'Margarethe' w/ Patane is in the upcoming Gounod compilation: https://www.good-music-guide.com/community/index.php/topic,28042.msg1149612.html#msg1149612

I know, I had noticed that. But I either have some interpretations from that box or am not interested in the others (in particular when they involve 'international' casts).

yes, overlaps are getting complicated nowadays. The "box" syndrome. There is something to say for individual recordings after all!  0:)

Buxtehude

And Bach didn't walk all the way to Buxtehude,he had only  a few weeks leave,( he stayed longer ) a walk of 400 km takes a lot of time. The story however is nice . :)

Thank you. It is my second purchase in that series. I already own the Magnificat [below] and I used that as a tester. I liked it very much hence the purchase above  :)

For me, it's always a thrill to see conductors record Copland's original 13-instrument version of Appalachian Spring. Reviews for this recording with Hugh Wolff and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra are quite good. Hugh Wolff seems rather enthusiastic about Copland's music as his commentary in the Copland documentary Fanfare for America gave me this impression.

The « other » Wozzeck. Büchner's unfinished play (1834) was hugely influential in german culture, esp at the turn of last century. Rilke was a noted enthusiast, possibly prompting him to write his own poor soldier story (Der Cornet). This is Manfred Gurlitt's take on it, with an excellent cast of singers and conductor.

Just arrived in the mail yesterday, Tuesday, 15 MAY 2018: The 14 CD DECCA collection of Arthur Grumiaux's Mono recordings.
The Grumiaux/Galleira recording of the Beethoven Violin Concerto has been my favorite recording of that work from the first time I heard it. But I remember someone in one of the CM forums (I think it was CMG) telling me that his mono recording with Beinum was even better. It was not available at the time, but it is in this set, the first performance on Disc 1, in fact. I bought this set mostly for that performance. But the box contains lots of other goodies, too. Among them, a complete set of the Beethoven violin sonatas with Clara Haskil, the two Bach Violin Concerti, all the Mozart violin concerti, the Tchaikovsky & Mendelssohn concerti, Lalo's Symphonie Espagnole, Saint-Saens 3, & Bruch 1.
