Surprised to see this purchase from you, Karlo, but if you didn't own any of these ballets already, then they are, IMHO, essential acquisitions anyway.
Yes, I had managed to avoid recordings of these works somehow.

Have you heard that Beethoven, Que? Vera Beths's Beethoven concerto might be my favorite recording of anything (though apparently others are not so impressed). It may not be the most beautiful version, but the sense of freshness throughout, and of triumph at the end is unmatched (and rarely approached) in all the others I've heard.

Q - please post on the Bosgraaf!  I am very interested in that one.

Thanks!

She absolutely does. Plays a cello (among other instruments too...)

Just bought:

Heard some of this recording via Spotify and it was quite beautiful, but with plenty of edges of course. :) Some of the music reminded me of Gorecki's 3rd. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Also bought these tonight:

No, I haven't. :) Got it primarily for the piano concertos, but will be interested to hear another period performance of the violin concertos.
I already have the cello sonatas - which are superb (Though something must have been left out to fit? ::))

Two items arrived today: Der Vampyr, an opera by Heinrich August Marschner (1795-1861) which, by the sound of it, greatly influenced Wagner; and music by Anthoine Boesset (1587-1643), a Gordo Shumway recommendation.

What can I say other than Feldman is an addiction. Oh, and I just bought these :) -

It's a shame you bought the version with the ugly cover  ;)

:P Yeah, well the Kronos Quartet recording is OOP and quite pricey used, so this was my next bet.

A medium-sized (for me) order from BRO came in yesterday.

I'll update here as I listen to them.

First up is this disc of Bach transcriptions for two harpsichords:

Sublime is the appropriate word here. . .  Sound quality and performance are exemplary!

This is my first purchase of a release on the Pierre Verany label and the sound quality is amazing!  Nagra 24/96 recording; certainly some of the finest digital sound I have heard.

John, you're killing me!!!!! How come you're buying all those Feldman and Sciarrino recordings but cancelled your order of the BIS Tveitt recordings!?!?

I give up!
