Mine shipped today from HMV Japan. Shipping turned out to be a good deal pricier than anticipated  >:( but at least it's on its way!

You're lucky that you don't get import tax + handling fee slapped on top of that. I recently ordered one single CD from Japan and Dutch customs still got me...   :(

Since two CDs of my large free shipping Amazon.de order got returned to Amazon before I got them (damaged in transition or something like that) and I have been refunded for them, I am now in the process of purchasing them again. The other CD was non-classical music, but the other was:

Haydn - Sinfonien 44, 45 und 49 - Mueller - Naxos 8.551072

7.31 euros with shipping. I would have paid 10.40 euros for this originally. I saved over 3 euros now, but lets see if this even arrives safely and of course it isn't new but used. A lot of hassle nevertheless...
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.

Status unchanged. Still "temporarily out of stock." Fingers crossed, but I don't have high expectations that I will get it before someone or something notices the mistake.

Doesn't matter if it's one or a dozen CDs. They will get you if you order outside EU customs area from someone not enrolled in the IOSS system. Thanks to Brexit I can't order stuff even from UK without being sure the seller has working IOSS codes! Shipping costs are through the roof and this customs crap doesn't help at all...

What are IOSS codes?

From the online pages of Finnish customs:

The IOSS (Import One-Stop-Shop) is a special system for paying the VAT on online purchases valued at no more than 150 euros (transports costs excluded from the value). When your purchase with a value not exceeding 150 euros arrives from outside the EU and the seller is registered for the IOSS, you can pay the Finnish VAT to the online store when you make the purchase.

So, IOSS kind of makes buying from outside EU as "smooth" in respect of customs as buying from inside EU.

I didn't know of that recording, but it seems like the perfect match between music & performer. And "vol. 1" sounds promising.

Interesting.  So then would the store make regular payments to the Finnish government?  And how does your package get released to you for delivery?

Not only Finland, but all EU countries. The release is supposed to be automatic and based on IOSS. Recently the system has changed and I don't have good experience anyway, because I avoid ordering from  outside EU like the plague.

It's just been released. It auspiciously starts with my favourite Leclair sonata, Op. 9/6. And, as you noted, it hopefully seems that more volumes are planned for the future.  8)

Excellent. :)  If it is a must-hear/buy, please let me know!

Thanks for the reminder that I need to get back to comparing Schumann piano cycles. Including this Claves one with several pianists.

Sometime between now and 2026...

Barely averted buying this thing twice!

I apparently purchased FLAC downloads, but started streaming it because I was too lazy to find the files on my disk. Then I found that one volume of the four disc set was not available "lossless" on Apple Music and was all set to buy the set on CD. Then thought, I should double check my FLAC collection, Duh! The flawed thought process was "I'm streaming it, so I must not own it."
