My No.3 obsession continues, this time in original 1873 form with Wacky Roger...

[asin]B00140L7CU[/asin]

And more Bruckner. Romantic from Herreweghe and the 6th from Van Zweden.

[asin]B00COU078Y[/asin]  [asin]B00C2RAOHI[/asin]

And.......More Bruckner. This time the masses. I have a few on MP3, Mass No.1 with Gardiner and Mass No.3 with Welser Möst, but none on disc and couldn't decided between these two. So I made the most logical move, bought both.

this one slipped by me when it was released in November 2012, until I stumbled over a listing for it at Prestoclassical.  But Amazon MP was much cheaper...

Two more to close out the evening.  8) I thought I had already ordered the Brahms 2nd from Gardiner but I was wrong, so now I have completed one of the best Brahms cycles I've heard.

Just ordered via the amazon mp:

Thanks to Chen Tao!  Your words certainly inspired this purchase!  :)

I am sure you will enjoy this interpretation enormously. The Binchois Consort is a top ensemble, and their allegiance to Dufay legendary. Please keep me informed of your progress with it.
And thank you for reading my reviews.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

Just bought more Martinu for the collection:

Been eyeing this since it came out.  Picked it up today from Amazon UK for $204, shipping included.  I was charged only £3 ($4.94) for shipping to the US!  This may or may not end up at insane bargain price one day (you know, $100 or less), but I figured it's a good deal at this price.

Of the three complete cycles I have, my favorite by far (vs. Rilling and Leonhardt/Harnoncourt)
And given what I paid to get it as a series of individual issues,  $209 is already a bargain!

"And why not Davis or Harnoncourt or Solti too?" To which I have no answer.

Sarge

Solti? I really wonder how he hadles Haydn's symphonies, with so much energy and power he put in his recordings! :D

I have his set of Londons.  Well done indeed.
Abbado, btw, did an incomplete set of Londons with the COE.

Oooh! You are picking up less well known piano works by well known composers! I have this one too, originally recommended by Harry. It's very good, though I like other individual performances by different pianists as well. There are not so many sets to choose from.

I ordered this on arta.cz:

[asin]B00H45GT0Y[/asin]

The amazon prices are ridiculous, and it currently doesn't seem to be available at the usual UK outlets.

The new erato

I also picked up some budget priced discs from prestoclassical:

Thanks Neal, I was wondering were I seen this box before so no doubt it was here sometime!. Im glad its a good set - as you say there arent many surveys of Tchaikovskys Piano Music. This box looks the most comprehensive. I have been listening some more to the Siblelius Piano Music set and I am really loving it so far. I cant wait to hear the Tchaikovsky when it arrives :)

Just received this (long deleted  :( ) CD, bought secondhand through the www.discogs.com marketplace:

As a Boulez completist, it was absolutely imperative I add this to my collection  :D, and Harvey's fascinating Mortuos plango, vivos voco was absent from my shelves. The Höller piece also seems attractive. I'm not mad about Ferneyhough, but let's see what the two versions of Funerailles sound like, and, finally, I've never heard a note of Dufourt  :-[ (so I'm broadening my horizons).

Listening to the Harvey...ravishing!  :)

Do you know, I own no Boulez! Seriously - none. I nearly came close to buying his take on Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe, but opted for Martinon instead. Nevertheless, interesting cd you got there.
