Wasn't sure if I really need the whole shebang of Clementi's ... have a Staier disc and some old stuff (Horowitz) and definitely was in for some more ... when I saw the box being offered cheaply at JPC's, I went for it, but it will take me ages to get through it, I'm sure.

Picked this up at the post office in the morning:

Looks like an amazing treasure trove, but I won't open it up as it's raining and I'll have to get it home safely tonight.

Your mailbox must be on the large side if those two fit in it!  :o
Over the years the metal has gradually expanded due to the larger and larger boxes shoved into it.No; seriously; I had to pick it up in a nearby shop (in Norway we have a post-in-store concept where we can perform postal services, including picking up packages). So it's open 14 hours 6 days a week, and pretty close as well.

I solved the problem by buying the biggest mailbox I could find.
I've always had great respect for Paddington because he is amusingly English and a eccentric bear He is a great British institution and emits great wisdom with every growl. Of course I have Paddington at home, he is a member of the family, sure he is from the moment he was born. We have adopted him.

You mean you move the problem indoors (instead of bursting mailbox you have a bursting home).   :o

Remember I bought 3 years ago my castle, a lot of pics were posted. From that moment, I realized that the bursting was over

I was wrong, it's here!  8) 8) 8) 8)

EDIT: I just saw this on the back of the box: "New York Philharmonic - four improvisations by the orchestra"

What?!

Lucky you!  And (you won't be greatly surprised) when I looked over the contents of that box, that was one of the items which screamed out at me.

The improvisations are on a "Music of Our Time" disc with Ligeti's Atmospheres and short works by Feldman, Denisov, and Schuller. I listened to the improvisations last night and they are pretty freakin' awesome. You could tell that, up on the podium, when Lenny heard a good thing happening, he encouraged it with all he had. One of them lasts nearly three minutes!

We have similar services here too, the closest store to my apartment is where I get the packages that don't fit in the mailbox. Open every day, too (14/11/6 hours)

One of Lenny's signal traits, and he practically always made it a musical strength, was his fearlessness!

Now, you'll own my favorite performance of Bluebeard's Castle. It is stunning. :)

Again, Decca has too much self-respect! Ken needs to insult them a little. Desperate, sad Sony has taught us that a 12 CD box should cost $30, not $70  :P

I picked up the Kertesz for $30. Maybe it was a box (the runt of the litter) that pretended it came from Sony?  :-\
But you are right! Ken needs to get at it with Decca!

Part of the motivation!  I am also quite interested in his version of Dvorak's requiem among many other things.  :P
