Word! :) I am inherently lazy, so thanks for doing it!

Eljr - I did the same exact thing until someone was kind enough to show me - I think we've all been there. So no bother at all...

Made a quick Amazon Japan order:

Interesting program. I already have the Weill (twice) but not the rest.

Clips sound great. Hopefully the whole disc lives up to my expectations.

A 3 disc set of totally unkmown composers from the second half of the 18th century.

My 3rd Iwan, this time a brand new recording by the hot new conductor of the Toulouse orchestra.

For Edda Moser. These are later recordings than those of her legendary EMI Electrola Mozart recital.

Yet another Rosenkranz Sonatas, I think that will be #4 (some here collect them by the dozen  ;D). This one's a throwback to a much older, romantic view of baroque violin playing. At the price, a no-brainer.

I was missing 00-2 from that series. Even heavily discounted, collecting them individuallly was more expensive than this 8.39€ set.

A font of melodies from Schubert's finest pen, heavenly played and sung here.

15 discs for just 8.39€, many of which I have never listened to before.

The label that produces this set sells it for EUR40 at its website. That said, Amazon UK has persistently maintained the price for two weeks.

Here's the listing: http://estore.ladolcevolta.com/home/69-schumann-integrale-live-de-l-oeuvre-pour-piano-seul--3770001902333.html?search_query=schumann&results=9

  I hope you're right  :)

Enough to make me wish I could enjoy the sound of a harpsichord.  :(

Thanks for the feedback, Jo498. As I said, I'm not too interested in Weill's music, but would like to get to know at least some of it.
With the Bertini et al. twofer you have, you got most of the "most serious" instrumental music (there are also a few early chamber pieces but I don't remember them). And the "Kleine Dreigroschenmusik" which is an instrument suite from the Threepenny (frequently recorded, Klemperer who conducted some Weill premieres in the 30s (I think) even recorded this one later again).

I'm currently awaiting delivery of this 13 disc set of Schumann's piano music, I can't say I know the pianist's pedigree but given a price including postage for a new box of only £5.96 or $7.88 it will either be the bargain of the year or a total dog of a set.

Does anyone have any knowledge of Dana Ciocarlie?

I heared several excepts of this box on radio classique and found them interesting.  I didnt buy the box because I already have most of its content by grand masters.

I do too but I couldn't resist such a bargain - the dreaded curse of the collector!

Ciocarle is romanian born, lives in Paris. Has recorded the violin and piano sonatas of Guillaume Lekeu, Albéric Magnard, Franck, Fauré, Godard, a Schubert disc, some Samazeuilh, Enesco, as well as modern piano music (Eötvös, Bartok, Ligeti, Penard, Escaich). She is extensively recorded on french labels. Not exactly a newcomer, but not a household name either.

I'm definitely interested in the Godard and Samazeuilh discs

A great disc. The Takemitsu is gorgeous.

André

Delivery date: November 9 !  :D
I like that kind of program, where diversity within a common thread allows one to experience different angles. Makes for difficult filing on my shelves though   ::).

:) I would just file it under Schnittke since he's the most represented composer on the disc with two works versus Takemitsu's and Weill's one work.

André

Good idea. I'll just have to remember where the Weill and Takemitsu have gone  :D

I've heard only a tiny bit of Koechlin's music, but I'm plunging in, Mirror Image-style, with both feet. ;)

Great haul, Alek! I think you'll enjoy the Koechlin (imagine a cross-breed of Debussy and early Messiaen). I'm actually rather jealous of you because the work in the orchestral set titled La Méditation de Purun Bhaghat was not included on any of the Holliger-led original issues on Hanssler. This work is a part of his grand cycle of symphonic poems called Le Livre de la Jungle, which very well could be considered his orchestral masterpiece. I might see if I just can't get this work as a download since I don't want to fork over the money to buy the box set.

I ordered the chamber music set ! The orchestral works set involves lots of duplication, so I'll wait or pass. Decisions, decisions...
