I much prefer the Clerks'group recording in this repertoire. The Tallis Scholars are a very fine ensemble and there was a time that they were my favorite but I have changed for another approach.
My last recording from the Tallis Scholars was the Taverner "missa Corona spinea".
It is regrettable that Andrew Parrott is not so active anymore in the recording studio.

Today I logged in for the first time in a couple years because I got a notification that I had a private message. That message turned out to be junk mail, but I wanted to make this visit worthwhile and so I looked for threads that I could post in and found this. I didn't purchase anything today, but did buy three CDs within the past several months:

Jun 19, 2018 (2 CDs)
"Liszt New Discoveries vol. 3" (Leslie Howard, Hyperion 2CDs)

May 24, 2018 (1 CD)
"New Liszt Discoveries" (Leslie Howard, Hyperion)

Before these purchases, I hadn't bought any CD since June 2009!

Never heard the wind divertimentos. The Gran Partita excerpts I sampled sound just great. All under the direction of Barthold Kuijken.

Favourite Haydn symphonies.

Organ accompanied hymns, with a few organ preludes thrown in.

Yes, the Cleopatra is a cantata. It was composed for a competition (judges included Delius and Coleridge-Taylor) and was awarded a special second prize.

Haha! Actually, one of the reasons that I stopped frequenting this forum was that I stopped buying CDs in 2009. I have zero desire to buy more. I bought the Liszt CDs above simply because I wanted to finish Leslie Howard's Complete Liszt series. I finished collecting the rest of this 99-CD series a long time ago, but somehow neglected to buy "New Discoveries Vol.1" and "New Discoveries Vol.3". I decided to take care of them earlier this year, and now I am all set.

Fine recordings of some seriously great music.

Listening now, authentic and intense.

Odds and ends mostly of interest to completists I think (of which I am one), but not without interest.

The new Erato, I'm expecting to see that third Mercury Box here soon!
