A good purchase, Jeffrey. I remember enjoying this piece, which shows Klami in a more spiritual vein.
I heard an extract on You Tube Cesar and was most impressed. I agree that it shows another side of Klami, whose music I have been enjoying recently.

I'm curious to hear the 'symphony' Zimmermann composed out of his opera Die Soldaten, which I heard/saw last month on DVD. His concerto is a major work. I have Lautenbacher's super intense version on disc, but it's somewhat dated sonically.

Ordered (and sent but not yet received) from europadisc. The Onslow series is very interesting.

THANKS be to Que :

It has many fans this fine box, and was discussed at length in these pages. It belongs together with other sets to my absolute favourites.

I know, have them all, but the Fourth volume I missed, thanks for spotting it. On the order list.

The only redundancy will be the Berg (which these LaSalle performances are in the Berg DG box --- mighty impressive performances they are, too).

Not that I needed another collection of Mozart piano concerti or Schubert symphonies, by any means; but these called to me.  I'm a couple of discs into the Mozart, it's very nice... I find both of these sets of repertoire endlessly satisfying... relaxing, elegant music that brings peace to the soul.  :)

The man that hath no music in himself,
Nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds,
Is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils.
The motions of his spirit are dull as night,
And his affections dark as Erebus.
Let no such man be trusted.
