Ms. Beyer's participation grabbed my attention.

Ordered from Presto this morning

Vivaldi & Bach: 12 Concertos, Op. 3 'l'estro Armonico'
2 CDs, quantity: 1, Naive OP7367

The Vivaldi/Bach is the brand new release from Fabio Biondi.

I suppose you mean Alessandrini. I would be interested in your impression of this recording.
Reality trumps our fantasy far beyond imagination.

Just ordered from different sources, and Dear God I sincerely hope that they both manage to get here, because if only one falls through it's a pain in the butt.

Well, both sources said that they've shipped while I was sleeping. Now I wait to see that the right thing turns up! With one box I'm confident because it's a seller I've used before (Apesound in Germany). With the other I'm relying on one of Amazon's listings, which are always a little risky (Amazon itself is notoriously bad at mixing up different recordings of the same music, and in this case Amazon has lost the front cover image and only has a back one!).

I did specifically ask before ordering, and they did reply quickly. Bookmans Entertainment Exchange in Arizona - anyone know if they're reliable?

Both are used boxes so there's an element of trust that they're in good condition.
Every single post on the forum is unnecessary. Including the ones that are interesting or useful.

Ha! True. Don't know why I mixed them up..

I'll post when I listen to it, but it probably will be at least 2 weeks before I actually get it.

I wanted to increase my knowledge about Max Reger, so I bought this 6-DVD set:

I own two recordings of Symphonies Nos. 3 & 6 (Venzago on BIS and Westerberg/Blomstedt on Phono Suecia). I also own the recording of the ballet Orpheus in Town (also on Phono Suecia).

Very nice, John, and as André also said, the SQs don't have waste whatsoever.
The current annihilation of a people on this planet (you know which one it is) is the most documented and at the same time the most preposterously denied.

More Reger for the collection:

Also bought:

I think now I've got all of Reger's chamber works (or, at least, what I want of it). I've been rather pleased with the other Reger MDG discs I have in my collection. I bought another cycle of the SQs because I'm not completely satisfied with the Berner Streichquartett set on CPO. And since I love solo piano music, I couldn't be without the 12-CD Reger series with Markus Becker.

John, that's a nice haul.
I've got the piano recordings in this format.

I presume that Le printans is old French for Le printemps:)

Great purchase. I really enjoyed these when I bought them, but for some reason haven't played them for years. I look forward to your thoughts and being stimulated to rectify that!

Thanks, Jeffrey. I looked for that reissued box set on NCA, but it's OOP, so I went with the original recordings but housed in a wooded box like this:

With good reason ! I have had them for a few years but in a space-saving box on the NCA label.

Great stuff. Surprisingly, the composer Reger's piano music reminds me most of is CPE Bach, who was equally prolific, dabbled in all genres and produced gold nuggets like a hen lays eggs.

Very good to read, indeed, Andre. 8) Let me ask you: do you own the Maximum Reger 6-DVD box set? I'm definitely looking forward to viewing it. Here's a little preview:

Didn't watch/hear it, John, although it's not the first time I stumble upon it and wonder if it wouldn't be nice to have  ::).

Truth is that I might enjoy it just that once and lay it rest untouched forever after  :-X

I'm spending the weekend in Barcelona and, well, a visit to Disco100 is as much of a "must" as are La Sagrada Familia, the Casa Milà, etc.  ;) This is the result:
