don't worry Fergus, I don't have to make towers yet, John is even in a situation where he even buys special towers records

Madiel

Towers... did I ever upload the towers that my father made me? I forget. Rotating wooden CD towers, and they're beautiful.

Hah! 8) Looks like a nice box set, Jan. The one my dad owns is this reissue:

Anyway, enjoy!

From the Missing Members thread:

Do I need another set of Mahler symphonies? Obviously not.

Do I have to have this set?  Obviously yes. ;D

It's clear, only the strong ones survive here  ::)

Yesterday I ordered the Suitner Dvorak set which I used to own in the saintly days of yore.

The box is a little pricey right now but damned if I don't keep trying to collect them one at a time  ;D

I like the individual covers better anyway.

I own most of the individual recordings plus the box set. Yeah, I don't know what got into me. ::) If I'm remembering correctly, what happened was I originally had bought the individual recordings almost in one go as a seller on eBay had them for sale as a wholesale lot (all in near mint condition, too) and I made him offer to which he accepted. And then that box set came out, which had some performances that I didn't own from this series like the Lieder, Des Knaben Wunderhorn (which was coupled with the Adagio from Symphony No. 10), Das Lied von der Erde and Das klagende Lied (which on the original release was coupled with Berg's Lulu-Suite). Anyway, I'm not regretting buying many of those individual releases as I do like the cover art, but when that box set came out, I saw its contents and bought it immediately. When I ripped the box set to my computer, I used all of the original covers, which looks so much better. 8)

What do you think of that recording of the Wunderhorn Lieder plus the Symphony 10 Adagio? I've been eyeing that one too, plus the 1st, which I've seen rave reviews for.

Just landed, at long last. Unwieldy in a way other than the Lenny boxes, but unwieldy, all the same ;)
