All in, US $77.
I don't know most of them but the Walton and Shostakovich recordings are very good.

Very interesting work, very 1960s avant-garde (not in the least similar to the composer's later tonal works and film scores).

When it was (unsuccessfully) given at La Scala soon after the première at Sadler Wells, poet and critic Eugenio Montale wrote unenthusiastically about the opera, and warned that "there are no mines, there is no sulphur"  ;D . But I really enjoyed this recording (haven't listened to it for ages, though).

I'm tempted to post that Mozart cover to the Ugly Cover Art thread. Does anyone know what it's supposed to represent? It seems to be the letter R with
zero divided by zero and the number 1 next to that--or the zeros might be "op" turned in its side. But nothing on the CD can be called an Opus 1. Any suggestions?

The Argerich CD is LvB Number 2 and Ravel in G.

My first thought, until I noticed the letter/number pattern.
But if it's a face, why that big loop on the left?

Its well worth the wait. I have all the volumes and cherish them.

Awaiting for it in transit. 🙂

Having said that, I just wish I would have waited another couple of weeks. I might have decided to obtain the new release set that Brian posted about yesterday, which includes all these works, but more.

The only work in Brian's set which I don't have is The Bartered Bride.

Great CD. I especially like Symphony No.2 which, together with Symphony No.7 'Cosmos' (thank you Harry for recommending this one) is my favourite.

Two great CDs Karl!
Don't forget to listen to 'The Krasnodonians' by Mazaev in the Svetlanov set. I find it very moving.

Let us know what you think of both Koechlin works, Karl. I enjoyed both very much!

I've been a great fan of Vers la voûte étoilée forever, Ray. It's one of my Top 10 Koechlin pieces. My quick takeaway from an inaugural listen to the Symphony is: I like it!
