Lucienne Delvaux was a big name on the opera houses billboards of Belgium and France in her heyday (1950s and 60s). Musique en Wallonie is a superb label. I have high hopes for this one.

None of the works in this disc duplicate those in the CPO series (3 discs). That's a good thing and a piece of luck. Sometimes obscure composers get that rare release and half its contents are duplications...

Interestingly enough that's not in the Sony Complete Mitropolous Box.

CPO has five CDs of his music.
Maybe you missed these two?

I agree with the assessment of his music you gave in the Listening thread. I have the first 2 CDs of the CPO series.

I suspect Sony would have had to pay to use that "Festspielhaus" recording again and opted not to.

Probably. But the box includes a Met Opera recording. Wouldn't the same thing apply.

I purchased a few Naxos downloads of Scriabin's symphonies from the Chandos clearance sale. Can't think of anything else I need at the moment.

Mookalafalas

I got this second hand for about $12. All seem to be true gems, and I have very few of them.

I anticipate 25 hours of great pleasure 8)
It's all good...

Ahem.... the Flute Concerto.

A glaring omission, then.

I was thinking of the orchestral works series. I wasn't aware there was a 4th disc tough ! Thanks for that. Not interested in the chamber music one for the moment. 👍

Too bad. You're missing out a tone poem for piano trio and a piano trio with baritone. When was the last time you encountered either the former or the later?

A great bargain - especially with Dukas thrown in!

Never. Shostakovich used a soprano.
Nobody has to apologise for using their brain.

Good day, @Florestan:)

Good day, Rafael.

Guess who wrote the following poem:

Comme les papillons volent de fleur en fleur;

He could be rather cursi at times TBH (much as I admire his novel)...  ;)
