And from Amazon MP

The reason behind this outburst is to complete Pollini's LvB sonata cycle as individual issues...I already have the rest.

Just now

I would really like to hear how this one goes for you, Jeffrey. I haven't got any new Biondi in quite some time, this whets my appetite though. :)

I will report.  He seems to have moved to Glossa; this is his second CD with them.

Is it only purchases which are to be posted here? Or are 'unexpected gifts arriving in the mail from ex-girlfriends' eligible too? I hope it's the latter...

Dvorak: Symphonies 7 & 8, Colin Davis, Cgb.
Rachmaninov: PC 2/Prokofiev PC 5, Richter, Stanislaw Wislocki/Witold Rowicki, Warsaw Philharmonic.
Schubert: 9, Furtwangler, BP.

And the bonus is that I'm completely unfamiliar with them all - so they're 'new' music.

"You overestimate my power of attraction," he told her. "No, I don't," she replied sharply, "and neither do you".

Madiel

I expect you'll find a lot of people here are surprised that it's an ex-girlfriend. A partner that is willing to give you classical music would probably be viewed by many here as a dream come true.
Nobody has to apologise for using their brain.

NikF

She's probably more responsible than anyone for helping open me to classical music. When we parted she left many of her CDs, with the condition that if I don't listen to them I should pass them on to someone who will. And occasionally a package arrives with a CD or two along with a note ("You MUST listen to this!") and a small gift for my current partner. So for the past couple of years I've been easing into the music, augmented from time to time by new arrivals. I do appreciate her ongoing kindness, and more than anything the world she greatly introduced me to.
"You overestimate my power of attraction," he told her. "No, I don't," she replied sharply, "and neither do you".

Madiel

Cool!

Well, I don't know any of the particular recordings in your latest gift, but I personally got my introduction to those Dvorak symphonies quite recently and enjoyed them very much. I'm on a bit of a Dvorak buzz lately.
Nobody has to apologise for using their brain.

NikF

I'm looking forward to listening to the Dvorak. Apart from those all I have are his SQ 5, 7, 12 and 13. Is there anything else of his work you particularly enjoyed/can recommend?
"You overestimate my power of attraction," he told her. "No, I don't," she replied sharply, "and neither do you".

The Masses of Theodore Dubois were often used at the parish church of my childhood, so I am hoping to hear at least one of the Masses performed back then:
