Archaic Torso of Apollo

That's where we sat! Did you happen to see that girl that kept twirling that stupid pencil during the Ravel until someone behind us asked her to stop? My dad and I were right next to her.

Ahh, I wish we had planned to meet up during intermission. I didn't think it would work out (we had dinner reservations and went to the pre-concert talk) and was kind of embarrassed that I didn't get back to you when you brought it up in the concert thread. If I had known you were that close by we could have met during intermission. Oh well... I certainly hope to see the CSO again soon and I loved the city.

Didn't see her, glad I missed it cuz it would have been distracting! I was glad to see such a good turnout for the concert, and the audience was enthusiastic too.

It would have been nice to meet up, but I had a previous commitment as well. If you come back to Chicago please let me know!

Yes, I can't wait to hear them as Segerstam is one of my favorite Sibelians. BTW, what do you think of Nielsen's music, Peter? I don't think I've ever heard you speak of him before on here.

I have heard Bostock's performances of the symphonies but it was years ago. A composer I need to revisit.

Yes! You will love his music. Right up your alley.

Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

I do not know Korngold's music at all so I bought this one for the Violin Concerto. If I do not like it the Tchaikovsky will keep me interested.

You can never have too many performances of these Nielsen works in your collection. 8)

The new erato

You cannot have more of his works than he actually wrote, can you?

You might if, for instance, Fritz Kreisler wrote a vn/pf duo and falsely attributed it to Nielsen  8)

Bloch's first piano quintet is a masterpiece. Not to belittle his superb second quintet of course. Recorded versions are not exactly thick on the ground.
