Flavio Testi

Italian composer Flavio Testi (b. Florence, Italy, 4 January 1923) passed away in Milan in January 14, 2014.

He enjoyed some notoriety in Italy in the 50's and 60's (his opera L'Albergo dei poveri --based on Gorki--was premiered at the Piccola Scala, under the baton of Gianandrea Gavazzeni, in 1966).

Not much of his work is available on CD. One of the few recordings avaiable is his opera Saül (after André Gide, first performed by Radio France in 2003):
