Well,... sorry, no link at the moment.

as a youngster, I enjoyed his work so much!!  it's still fun.

Oh man.  I just saw a little TCM interview/tribute/featurette thing on him recently, just weeks ago.  Some little interview fragments made him seem like a jolly craftsman.  He created some uncanny and strange worlds that still infiltrate my dreams from childhood.  Maybe it's just a function of my generation and imprinting, but CGI doesn't have near the emotional (?) effect on me that Harryhausen's "primitive" stop-motion animation did and does.

Loved the original Jason and the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans - so much better than the unmemorable re-makes;

"Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm" (Churchill).

'The test of a work of art is, in the end, our affection for it, not our ability to explain why it is good' (Stanley Kubrick).

There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

I loved Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger, but maybe that didn't have much to do with Ray...

Unless it turns out that Jane Seymour and Taryn Power were actually claymation.

I'd put Clash of the Titans on the list of movies everyone should see at least once in their life.

Well, I own a half dozen of Ray's films on DVDs or BDs - was planning on watching a few this week - Sinbad.... might be a good start!  ;) ;D
