As the young'uns would say:  Woo hoo!  :)  Enjoy!  Hopefully, no grading, etc. to do?

Here:  letting muscles recover from yard work.  More to do soon.  Want to get beds ready for some veggie planting; no idea what will go in there this year.  Tarragon, for certain (mine died) and some basil, parsley and Greek oregano.  I love (in particular) certain varieties of zucchini, but hate the cabbage moths that go after it.  Anyway, I'll figure it out.

Finishing up lunch, which consisted of ( shocker! ) eight eggs, with iced tea.

I was on the hook as well, two weeks ago. Then they texted me saying l wasn't needed, so I'm off the hook for a year.

The one Kubrick film I've neglected, though l find the technical challenges faced to be very interesting.

Someday...

I'm at work. Things aren't exactly great here, but soon I'll be semi-retired, and life will be simpler ( if a bit more spartan ).

My ( non-musical ) career began in 1984, so I've witnessed the evolution from file cabinets to hard discs to the cloud first-hand.

But the irreplaceable human factors have remained as they were when I was young:

The need for respect between management and the workforce at large, in both directions.

Adequate wages, and the opportunity for advancement.

Honest relations, in good faith, between vendor and customer.

If any of those components are absent in your employment situation, move on.

Applying FlexacrylTM to a garage roof:

Not nice to work with - a suspension of glass fibres in thick glue, that dries surprisingly quickly on a warm day (like today) - and is particularly laborious to work into a surface that's started to lift and break up (as here.)  But an effective way to extend the life of a roof that's at all dodgy.  Five years ago I used it on a porch roof that had started to leak but I hadn't identified where from exactly, and the problem hasn't recurred since.

The product notes are amusingly optimistic with their instructions for cleaning equipment after use, all of which could be condensed into the two words Don't bother.  This stuff gets everywhere, and sticks everything to everything else - hard.  I've found it advisable to stop periodically and throw away whatever I've been using and replace it with new, and be thankful to get off the roof without finding myself glued to it.  It's all too easy to carry on past where you should have stopped, then to find your hand is stuck inside your glove, which is stuck to the handle of your brush, which is now stuck inside the can.  Which is stuck to the roof.  For this job I wear a special pair of jeans with duct tape where the knees used to be. :blank:

Oh, boy!  Sounds like you've been having lots of fun!   :(

I'm inside for a lunch break.  Been working on the yard; one project done (had purchased new extension to downspout.  Had to first dig up some spiderwort which was blocking ease of access to downspout.  More yardwork to do--after eating a grilled tomato and mozzarella sandwich.

@ultralinear How much more of your roof is left to do?

I'm in for the day.  It surprisingly turned sunny and warm out!  More rain forecast for this weekend.  At least I was able to get some things either raked, weeded or cut down...not as much as I had hoped to get done, but it's still headway!  If I'm lucky (knock on wood) the rain won't start 'til sometime Friday.  I'd like to fertilize my rosebushes and peonies (rather late this year as far as the peonies goes).  That, and get some more clearing done.

About 2/3rds.  I stopped today when I reached the bottom of a can, by which time the sun was making the roof hot to the touch (which is the source of the cracking, with all the expansion and contraction.)  Tomorrow is forecast to be cooler and overcast - which would make things easier - but we've been getting basically the same forecast every day for weeks, so I'll just to have to start early and see how it goes.  Still no sign of rain.  Yesterday I was planting some more bluebells for next year, and as far down as I dug the soil was dry powder. :(

This evening I have been spraying my Amanogawa cherries for blackfly - by this time of year they're usually thick with it, and showing a bad case of leaf curl - and this year is no exception.  Pretty though when in flower (last month) :

My partner has been spraying her peonies for ants, which again tend to infest around this time and eat the leaves.

I can see why roofers like to start at 7 a.m.!

What beautiful trees!

Interesting, I had never heard about ants eating peonies leaves before [On my end, I've seen ants on the blooms but never any damage to the leaves.].  Last I understood, there's a symbiotic relationship between peonies and ants that's beneficial to both.  Is there a chance that something else might be eating the leaves?

I found this:  https://mygardenflowers.com/what-is-eating-my-peonies/  I did notice in her "About" that she talked about "after completing my formal education" though she did not say what it was in.

Preparing to move house. Expensive, annoying, untidy, demanding, cluttered, intrusive, and frustrating.

So, it sounds like that you're moving to a smaller house?  Or are you moving in with someone (like an older relative to help look after them)?  Or something else?

None of the above ☺️

We are moving to a house that is about 3 times the size of the one we own. We want more space 🙂
