Now I'm having a nice argument about 50 cent vs Mozart.

I dont know about the rest of you but i think 50 cent is a master of counterpoint.

Well, I think I won because they stopped replying.

I think many people have a hard time extending/developing a debate when all they listen to all day is people talking over a "beat".

either that, or they'd have to have a rap contest to succesfully debate an issue

Which (as you probably already guessed) is a pretty cool idea!

Kullervo

Or they have a dance-off... like in Breakin'.

Good choice.

But I mustn't ... I have stir fry in a moment, and I'll ruin my appetite if I eat something sweet. Perhaps for afters ... ;D

Looking at M's pic in the other thread. God, doesn't he look like a con who just escaped from Fox River...

(No offense)

Not so much what am I doing, but what did I do earlier today.

In a fit of temporary insanity, I reorganised my entire CD collection. It now runs alphabetically by composer, then work, with a special area set aside to keep BBC Music magazines in issue order, and another area for compilations, etc. Why do this, when I much prefer how everything looks when it's on my shelves organised by label, then composer then work? I just wanted to see if I could be a 'normal' collector for a change; plus, I want to see what all my multiple copies of works looked like stood side by side.

Honestly, you'd think I'd have enough to do with a one-month-old baby at home ... ::) ;D

Of course you do, who wouldn't? Now that I've seen the photo, I think I'm getting vibrational fields all over my body.   ;D

Typical. I would have to post a picture that reveals I have some Elgar in my collection. Sixteen CDs worth, actually - and I wouldn't have been able to tell you that had I not reorganised things. :D

I would call this patriotism above and beyond the call of duty.

Don't get too excited: it's just multiples of the Cello Concerto and Enigma Variations, plus the symphonies. ;)

And now I think about it (and have done a recount), it's not sixteen CDs. It's twenty. :o

I'm studying Japanese. Just wanted to report it. And having fun doing it, since with my skillz i've been able to find sites with WebComics in Japanese, therefore making the experience of studying something fun.  :)
I just wish they had original Japanese comics at the bookstore (i've heard there's actually rare instances of that in the US!)

longears

Recuperating from the flu.  One of those bouts during which every part of my body ached with excruciating pain--sort of like listening to Wagner Schumann during a root canal.  ;)  Three days off work is the most time I've had in nearly a year--rough way to get it, however, and it'll be hell catching up when I go back to the shop.
