Aida in Verona?

I will be in northeastern Italy for a week soon. I noticed they are doing Aida at the Arena in Verona. Has anyone been there? Is the experience worthwhile? I am unfamiliar with this cast and conductor:

Though Aida in Verona is one of those things that most tourists want to see, and therefore sells out much more quickly than the other operas they do.

Saw Turandot there in 95. The setting makes it worthwhile - this is Italian folklore - however the performance. Bring food and wine!
