or is there one you missed that went price crazy and now you are kicking yourself.  I am talking about the biggies.  Capable of breaking a windshield type set. ;D

The complete Horowitz Original Jackets set.  I'm not really a Horowitz fan, but had I bought it I could sell it at a profit, or I could keep it and listen at my leisure.  My biggest regret, though, is not having purchased the complete 200 CD Great Pianists of the 20th Century set when it was available briefly at BRO for only $400.

Why oh why did I pass on the EMI complete Cziffra box when it was available?  Same for the Decca Original Masters Martinon Box.

The one I waited too long to get is the Mercury Living Presence 1 Box.

That's the one! I made the same mistake.

Wait, not a mistake. I did not have $400 and was unsuccessful in obtaining a loan from a friend, or should I say, former friend.

(maybe...I've heard mixed/complimentary reviews....Amazon's 'Giordano Bruno' seemed to dig at least some of these, fwiw)

It's funny I almost didn't mention a couple of these because they were "only" 20 discs.  Wafer thin!

The one set I missed that I now dearly would have wanted are the Great Pianist box. Everything else I have missed are no matter in the greater scheme of things.

Man oh man. You pick seriously thick boxes!!!!

My largest box is Haydn/Fisher (33 discs), followed by Massenet Edition (23), Loewe Songs (21), Haydn/Angeles (21), Haydn Dorati Operas (20), and Steinberg ICON (20). That is all I have from 20 discs or more type boxes (heck, it includes 16 and over).
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

I really felt like I turned a Box Corner in my life the other day, when I passed on a great box deal (the Haydn/Davies symphs set for ~$27).  Not just passed, but placed the order then canceled it.  I itch just thinking about it.  It wasn't even finances but dread of overkill, even for Haydn, a great love.
Of course, the austerity mood evaporated pretty quickly, cf. the list above, which is probably not even comprehensive.

I have the Henze box, the Boulez Mahler and the Dutoit Berlioz, a total of 47 discs, nesting safely in a shopping basket somewhere.

Do you have another complete symphony set already?   If not, your conscience kicked in at the wrong moment!  :(

I ordered the Cziffra box, then canceled it.  By the time I realized my mistake, it was gone forever.  :(

I don't know: his LvB cycle with the RCO is preferable, the Bruckner cycle can be had cheaply otherwise, the Brahms doesn't match Klemperer's.

IMO.... :)

Octave, does that Bach Gardiner complete set actually exist?  Or did you photoshop that cover? ;D
