Whenever I feel that my life is going down the hole, I always remember this: it could be much worse.
yeah, you could be in the navy

You have a knack for being inappropriate.

I am pretty satisfied. I have a wife, two beautiful daughters, own my own house that has another 7-8 years left on the mortgage so that I'll be done paying  before my 40th birthday. No I don't make a million dollars a year but in general I am quite happy about things.

Sounds good to me :).

It's better than being dead.....

But that's not really saying much now is it?  My life is decent, but needs improvement, a lot of it I think :)

I made 600 posts on an online forum in 2 months, so I don't have a life.

I made 1200. I have half the life you do  ;D

How satisfied are you with your life? That question always brings to mind the Life of Brian, and its answer to every existential question:

Life's a piece of shit when you look at it

Oh, sure, life is swell sometimes...pretty damn good, in fact. But it never lasts very long. Just wait for it...around the corner is hell on earth.

Life's pretty awesome.  Wouldn't wish life as a whole to be anything else (although some details should be changed).

Just finished Brave New World, and it makes me grateful for the way things are...

Don't you get bored with the routine of life? You pretty much do the same shit everyday, days just seem blend into one another. I sit in front of my computer listening to Mozart's pc and posting on this forum. I won't go into much details but im pretty much in a jail. Here is the weird part, I still have days where I am in a good mood and some in a bad. Why? lol if I do the same thing everyday without much outside influence can I have good and bad days and not just days that are all the same? What factors actually determine how you feel if in this experiment which by force I must participate has no outside influences. Can mood be controlled?

So what I always remember it could be much worse, it could also be much better. If my life were better would I still want more out of it? Certainly anyone would.

Can you confirm this for us?  :)

But If you think, we are living a world which is a lot like Brave New World, don't you think? :P

It could be better if I could retire at 36, but other than that, I would qualify it as very good. :)

For my part, working at a kindergarten with lots of interesting personalities makes the days very different.

Who's to say it won't be?

I've made well over 1100 posts in three months, so I guess I don't have a life, either. Only, I do, and on the whole, I rather enjoy it. :) Will be better once I'm a dad ... if more tiring. ::)

Congratulations, soon-to-be father!  ;)

That's so funny, that's exactly the same way it is for me. We're both stuck at home and hardly anything happens at all, yet we both have "good days" and "bad days". How can this be when every single day is exactly the same?  ???
(btw, i didn't even have any idea that it was Friday today, the first guess i made was Tuesday, maybe Wednesday...)

Sure, you can think about different things and experience different things, but it's not like a simple math problem, like (thing about something bad = you feel bad), at least not all the time. Sometimes, yeah, but sometimes you can laugh at anything or feel bad about anything. I think moods are totally random, and about as easily controlled as your dreams, thoughts, or music that is stuck in your head. And what sucks is to do something successful, you need to be in a certain mood to get something done, but when you're in the opposite mood, it's nearly impossible unless you go to sleep or something.

I don't quite understand what you guys mean by "stuck at home." Care to elaborate?

You can retire at 36 and live off the government. They'll provide you with free housing, healthcare, food stamps, etc. My parents live in Bronx, NY and nobody who lives in the Bronx works. They just sit outside their project houses, play basketball, play dreadful hip-hop on their cheap radios, and walk their even more dreadful animals.
