Also looking forward to the next instalment in Petrenko's Shosty cycle (4):

Hah! Until I looked at the Amazon listing and saw the text "COVER IMAGE COMING SOON", I was thinking, "Wow, that's a dramatic cover art choice for Naxos... and a good one."

Will be interested to see if the final cover is better, or worse.

Enticing. I may go for it. Very interested in some of the opera recordings and I don't think I already own anything from this set.

That will test my "no more big boxes" rule. Actually, it's more of a guideline than a rule.

I have 3 of the 60 (Hovhaness, Khachaturian, and the Richter-Leinsdorf Brahms). How much do I want the other 57?

Thanks for the heads-up.  The Weinberg concerto always gets my attention.

In fact, since I have two recordings of the Britten and one of the Weinberg (I think),  it's the Weinberg for which I will get this one

Kontrapunctus

Roth has recorded all of Weinberg's Sonatas...here's s video in which he discusses and plays some bits:

He seems like a fine violinist.

Well, my library is relatively small compared to most of you guys, and these big boxes are an affordable way to catch up on the core repertoire.
Actually, I went through and pre-ordered it already.   8)

I think my library is large by sane-person standards but small by GMG standards.

Ah yes, that's the one Jens is writing liner notes for. I hope it's a good recording. It's hard to find performances of Weinberg's VC.
