Hello.

I'm a student who is currently working on two specific composers and one of them is said to be more well-known abroad than in his own country, so I'm curious to know how many of you have ever heard about him.

His name is António Fragoso, a Portuguese composer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ant%C3%B3nio_Fragoso)

So I'd really apreciate if you could leave a message stating if you know/have ever heard about him and what country (or at least, continent) you are from.

Please, be honest.  ;)

I have never heard of him, and searching the forum (with Google and the forum's own search engine) gave no results, so apparently his name hasn't ever been mentioned here before.

I'm from Finland and António Fragoso is totally unknown composer to me. :-\
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

I'm from Belgium and never heard of this composer.

It doesn't surprise me however. There are hundreds of composers that are completely forgotten.

What is the special reason that you are studying Fragoso?

Well, I'm from Portugal (though living abroad since 2000) and I have never heard of him.

Hello & welcome to the forum - living in North Carolina, USA - and a collector of vague & unknown composers - must also state that I've never heard of this composer from Portugal, who died early from the great flu pandemic at the end of WWI.

But just out of curiosity I went to Amazon USA and there is a CD w/ his name - don't own it but seems like a promising young composer taken too early in life - Dave :)
