Well all things said, I play at this moment his Symphonies on the label Chandos, and I enjoy what I hear! :)

And why not?

It isn't as if you were trying to say "Greatness in music consists in my enjoying it when I hear it," right?

Right! :)

Greatness in my home it may have, but uttering it on the forum is another thing.
But honestly Karl, I have problems with determining "Greatness" in music or composers.

Sure . . . sounds like a great idea for a thread . . . .

Dittersdorf wrote 110 symphonies (more than Haydn!). Only a few of them have been recorded (less than 20?).
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Croonies.  ;D

Complete works by Ditterfdorf would really earn my respect!

Could we please use this thread for what it is intended gentlemen?
No fighting please, that makes me incredibly sad!

Whether its fighting or not, it has nothing to do with Harry's purchases.

Therefore, I am going to temporarily lock this thread.  :-\

No, that's not the reason. I just find Britten's music repulsive. Cold, ugly, annoying,...

Me too!  :'(

Let's it try again, my friend!  :)

For everyone else: this thread was created on the old GMG and gave Harry a convenient place to post his many, many purchases. It was a success there and gave those who wished to keep track of Harry's purchases a separate place to go check them out. Those who did not wish to follow his purchases could simply choose to not check this thread out. Since many of his shopping days result in pages of purchases, this was a logical way to keep his purchases from steamrolling over others who were buying only a disc or two. I thought it was a good idea then and I still think that its a good idea now.  :)

Why?

We had over a page of discussion that had nothing to do with Harry's purchases. Since that is the purpose and topic of this thread, I decided to lock it.  :)
