Y'know, I'd love to see some more of that "hyper def" art like that extraordinarily brilliant photo with the fugees and the lifevests.

Sarge

well there ya go :D

Right? What is one to say, Your Honor? If that is real, it sure looks fucked up.

"Oh look, foreground and background are both at perfect crispness. Perspective has been defeated. Yaaay!!!"

OK, so now it's real, what am I supposed to say? Does The Photography Thread APPROVE of such... such... ridiculous photos with no depth of field. I mean, is this how young people consider "back in the day" 2007?

OK, so it's real, am I still supposed to approve of it?

Are we now all Egyptians now, with no perspective, LOL??!!

Truly, thanks, Sarge, for now I have stepped through the Looking Glass into this new world of wonder.

NO WONDER all movies look soooo bad now. And apparently everyone accepts this?

btw- remind myself I never want to see a pic of karl in Hyper def...... the pores.... the pooooores......

[i[/i] I'm ashamed of photography today. Shame, shame on you Photography, horrid horrid "Arte Forme". bah...spit

Not only that, it's flippin INTRUSIVE as all get out. Talk about willing into the surveillance state....

CAN WE PRAY?

Dear Lord,

We see through a glass darkly...

Great example of minimalist photography. I like it.

Thanks, Sarge.

This one.
And nice to see you're back behind your camera again.

Yes, that's my favorite of the two.

And nice to see you back in the forum, Nik. Is the London gig over?

Sarge

Thanks Sarge. Yeah, my services weren't required all that much. The highlight was being asked to help figure out why in some guy's work the colour temp was all over the place. That's about as exotic as it got. ;D

But I'm going back down to meet up with a friend. Remember I posted a couple of shots of a young dancer? And we were saying how it's important that when you've got what you need in the bag you should keep shooting, maybe resulting in an expression or look that's out the ordinary or cool? Well she's finishing in a show and we're going to hang out for a while. And then we're going up to meet my best friend/assistant/arch nemesis and maybe take some photos and have fun.

One of my favorite models, aging gracefully. She's also a keen amateur photog. The second image is her latest Clouds (over New Mexico).

Nice, Sarge. Yes, those are some nice looking clouds.

Very nice Sarge. And the 15:00 catchlights are cool.

Also, I agree with North Star about the clouds. Good stuff.

It's rather rule of thirds - and that's not something I associate with you. Or at least, not as much as shown in this shot. But I don't consider it a problem. And it might simply be down to how I look at a composition.
Also, there are reflections of two different elements. Both are interesting within themselves and also how you've framed them.
Good to see you out taking photos again.  :)

Yeah, the frame is certainly easily divided into thirds. Sometimes it can work, too..

Considering types of reflections, there are the grass reflections, and reflections of the cloudy sky and the trees.

Thanks, it's nice to feel like there's something inspiring out there again.

Yeah, put a spiral over that and it could well fall on that horizontal grass.

I thought "I'll mention that there are two elements providing reflection. But it's North Star and so he'll tell me there are three because the sky is another one."
But it's good to know you're enjoying being out there.  :)
Been meaning to ask; you using any kind of tripod?

No, everything is hand-held.

Another one from Monday

I like the sense of diminishing on the right in contrast to the solidity of the tree occupying the foreground.

An aside: my best buddy is building a computer for me and so I look forward to being able to view photographs properly once more.
