Great shots of the leaves North Star. I love the dire contrast in b/w and the graininess (especially in the last photo where the epidermal cells have this powdery look contrasting greatly with the black smoothness of the background). I imagine that the walls of your house are filled with your photos?

Thank you both.

Wonderful effect.  Had you not given a title I would have thought it crystallography.  How the Hades did you do it?  (Or is it artist's secret?)

I think the rains have stopped here long enough for me to consider venturing out for a walk . . . .

There might be something more annoying than rain out there waiting for you..

Is that a "Chubby Rain" allusion? 8)

Looking at Ansel Adams' work from here, quite a few examples are way too low quality files, though.

I'm clearing out some home computer files and doing back-ups and thought to share some of my "captures," an amusing (and if one is the subject of the camera a possibly alarming) term.  Hope this won't annoy like the proverbial family slideshow.  Prob. be just a once a year infliction anyway.  I've been an active photographer for under three years and still seek my stylistic niche (some might say rut and I don't get into those).  This first is of a 19th century house I fell in love with along the Barge Canal in NYS.  Despite the gate, a most inviting entryway.

I'm drawn to things that beckon, alleyways, pleasant and un-; country roads, rr tracks; sirens.

When I shoot nature themes, I often feel out of my element actually.  Like Baudelaire, I'm more of a city guy, but still, there's plenty of nature 'infiltrating' everywhere...
