the Police.   For me, the Talking Heads had a few interesting songs,   but the Police had more than a few, and I think they were stronger musically.  Plus an extra merit point to the Police for quoting the Simpleton's music from Boris Godunov in one song.

7/4

They're both great for different reasons...The Police because they're great musicians, the Heads because they're so...arty or something. Both full of sonic adventure and that counts in my book.

I do recall, though, a particularly magic night at a disco during a ski week in Garmisch (1983), a brilliant crowd bouncing in unison to the chorus of So Lonely. Even Mrs. Rock, who doesn't dance, was on the floor for that one  ;D That song alone makes me sad I can't vote for both bands. In truth, though, the Talking Heads were part of my life  then in a way the Police never were.

Talking Heads - Not much worth remembering. The singer's voice is terribly annoying.

We're still batting a 1000  ;D  It's Sting's faux Jamaican accent that I find annoying.

Nowhere near as easy for me as the Stones VS. Beatles poll . . . but I found myself behind the wheel of a large automobile . . . .

Sting performing the Cold Song from Purcell's King Arthur. Since the question of Byrne's singing was raised.
