The German publication Die Zeit (Times) is doing a feature around the New Year on psychotherapy around the world. I was chosen as (one of) the psychologist to be featured.  (One of the other person who may be featured is a psychotherapist in Uganda).

We had a long talk on the first day. Today the German journalist was joined by a photo journalist and we had a vegetarian lunch, followed by walking in the neighbourhood where I grew up, taking many photos, including in the really broken down old place. I ran into a first grade classmate. Was a good day indeed. Next week we will have another photo shoot, a counselling session that they will attend followed by the lecture on parenting I will be doing for the public.
Phew!
Well, of course I don't know enough German to read the report. But still it is quite exciting.

Not sure how this happens.  ???
Had to have been some way other than just recognizing them...

We have annual reunions. Although he attended none, one time we had 38 people who showed up! He lived across the lane from where I grew up, and I gave a few names to an old lady who told me he is still there. So I just went there and shouted his name. He opened the door.

If I shouted Karl, I am afraid a group of diehard communists may come out!

;D :D ;D

If you're informed of the date of publication, I'll buy a copy and Mrs. Rock will translate it for you.

Edit: Just saw that Die Zeit has an online presence (well, of course they do). Maybe it will appear there too.

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

My father subscribes and gets it every week. He'll be reading for sure...

I see.
I wish I could still see the friends I grew up with. Except they are mostly scattered now (San Antonio, Ireland, Arizona, Virginia, etc.) or I've just lost contact with them altogether.

All finished today. The team returns to Berlin tomorrow.

It was scheduled to be on the Jan. 7 issue. But now it seems it will be postponed until April. I will announce it when it happens.

Update: It will be published in July and my portrait will be the "centrefold".

No one will say "just a pretty face" about a centrefold anymore!
