I spent all day yesterday with Ohana. I feel confident that the recommendations are correct. Please let us know what you hear!

This is the one you should get first. It has In Dark and Blue, the PC, and an orchestral work called T'Haran-ngo. The latter does actually remind me a little bit of Xenakis, but not nearly as savage. The ID&B and the PC don't remind me of Xenakis in the least.

I finally pulled for the Erato disc with 'Livre', 'Signes', and 'Tamarit'. not here yet...


Yes, 'T'Haran-ngo' does have a bit of Xenakis in it, quite a bit, but more from the 'Waarg' era.And I did also like D&B and the PC. And also 'Silencaire' and the harpsichord works.


I'm lumping Ohana in with Jolivet, Messiaen, Sauget, Landowski, Dutilleux, Nunes (especially)- many of the "Erato stable"
