Frans Brüggen in 1967, playing Telemann:

The D minor. A piece I know intimately and have always attempted to model my playing of it on Bruggen, although coming nowhere near of course.

His recording of Telemann sonatas and fantasias (teaming up with Bylsma and Leonhardt for the sonatas) is seminal. In fact most of his recorder recordings are seminal. One of the greatest.

And this, ending with his last [?] encore (Rameau), a very moving clip ....

I found this deeply moving and affecting, and I think we can all relate to the need to be near music - particularly as the end draws nearer.  Bruggen was an exceptional musician, conductor and musicologist.
