A Frightening Snapshot Into the Lives of Some

Two separate people I know pretty well have both told me scary stories about how one's life can be turned upside down- apparently at a moment's notice. Well, if you include my other friend's horrifyingly manipulative car mystery, it really begins to make one feel... mm... what's it called when you don't think they're out to get you personally, but there there appears to be the potential for "hijinx" for any random person that may just happen to...

My one friend is having an elderly-mother-scheming-family syndrome, which just boils the blood when one hears the story. My friend is seemingly being set-up like a patsy, and the telling of the story makes one's breath quicken as if one needed to deal with this right away- as with fire- to rid oneself of the possibility of anything untoward happen.

But, this other story makes me question... what?, I don't know... I'm still a bit dazed by the telling... I'll try the short version:

Haven't seen him for a few years. Have stopped by when at home, but no answer. So, out of the blue he stops by. Well, we haven't seen him because

a) he ate an Arby's and got a disease in his testicle- dried blood leaking into leg and all kinds of other wondrous details- anyhow, he made it sound excruciatingly bad- When Nuts Go Bad?- brrrrr- anyhow, he was acting in pain- I didn't ask to see.

b) his older neighbour has called the cops on him- he says 60 times in a year- Racial, Disturbing Peace,...etc... cops busting door at 4am to haul him out of bed to jail- twice he says- and been in the looney bin twice (even if I told you this guy's history... quite the disturbed genius, but- so- I don't know HOW to believe this all)- but he just makes it sound outrageously bad- really? then what happened? really? then what happened? really?...

c) all the neighbours do their roofs, so he gets the "spiders from hell".

Well, I guess that's enough.

Good.. uh, bad... story?

So, if I just take his story at face value- how would I deal? aye aye aye- not thinking very well. What if your neighbours suddenly became like the Angel of Death for your life,... or... that one parking ticket that ends up ruining your life... or... or...

Maybe I can add the Ray Rice Incident into this- not that HE's not guilty, but, in a culture where SIMPLY THE WORD is enough (if one had a vindictive spouse). You know that in Arizona if a cop is called to Domestic the man is always arrested no matter what (prolly should fact check that,... but naaaaah!)- there's plenty of interesting YT videos and such...

Does there have to be a "they" are out to get you? Aren't we heading into a time of history where statistically more of us than ever before are going to experience a Literal Surrealism? (I mean, ffs, don't take me Literally, just- yoiu know...)
