There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

I believe that you are asking a bit much of yourself, John.  Sarge's timber for maintaining an avatar is rare air.  ;D I propose that you treat it like a calendar and have a new one each month.  So, keep Aaron here until the start of November.

How about this: I keep Copland until December (after all November is his birth month)? :) I like your idea, though.

What about different facial parts of Copland for each month of the year?   >:D

The new erato

I think this thread has the wrong title as the answer to "who" obviously is EVERYBODY!

A more relevant title is WHEN should (insert name of composer) be my avatar?

Crying my eyes out right now...Delius how could I have deceived you...listened to Songs of Sunset tonight and something just came over me. Such beautiful, evocative music.

Arnold did not rate more than an afternoon delight!

:) I've never balled my eyes out to Arnie.

(Looks through Delius collection)

It appears that Strauss may be my permanent avatar. I wonder how long I've had him up so far?

It's been at least 40 minutes, I think. Yeah, a new record  ;D

Seriously, you and I (and everyone else) know you'll never have a permanent avatar. But even if you did pick one, it would most certainly not be Strauss.

"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Sarge

But I've really come to appreciate, and love, a lot of Strauss' music. Why wouldn't I pick Strauss? You saying that my avatar certainly would not be Strauss implies that you had someone else in mind?

P. S.  It's good to see you back Sarge. I've missed you around here. :)
