German jpc has currently a special offer on the Italian Dynamic label:

I'm a bit overwhelmed and not sure where to look, due to unfamiliarity with either performers or composers... ???

But I'm certain there are some hidden treasures - does anyone like to point them out to me? :) :)

I'm no expert, but give a listen to the Allegri, Fasch, Handel/Agrippina (it's on both DVD and CD). In general, I have been pleased with the cds that have the bon bons / sweets on the cover (though I only have a few of them). There are other good versions of Agrippina, so this may not be a necessity. I have long had some of the Paganini cds on my wishlist, but have never pulled the trigger.
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

Viotti and Rolla for out-of-the-way classical era.

I have the Paganini string quartets, nice disk. Geez, there are a lot of nice disks on Dynamic. IIRC, the Spohr VC's, are there too. And yes, Viotti. And Tartini VC's. I have a bunch of those, great music making. I'm not home now, memory isn't what it used to be... Boccherini there too, though. :-\

The Goldberg Variations by Andrea Bacchetti, a wonderful  Bach player, are superb.

This is in my collection too. I'll have to give it a spin to remember what it's like:

Bonporti, Francesco Antonio -- 6 Motetti a Canto Solo Op.3, Martini, Bertagnolli, Accademia Filarmonici, Dynamic 280

Buuut, there's the Big Box of Italian SQs, which I believe includes the Paganini,... but which also has the INDISPENSABLE  Malipiero SQs by the Venice group. MUST HAVE!! Q

Also Sciarrino Piano Music to taunt the neighbuors! ;)
