Ha. Whereas as it (the Kodaly op.76) is my favourite. They are precisely why the first movement of op.76/1, in my memory, has some "spirito" to it. The LHQ is profoundly lacking in that quality.

I texted Gurn that thanks to streaming I've finally had a chance to give LHQ a second chance (which Gurn encouraged me to do before).  I first listened to them when they first started.  I wasn't impressed then, but I am now.  I think that anyone that liked Mosaiques and wanted more in that style of playing would appreciate the London Haydn.

But the Festetics is still my go to PI set and I can't see myself buying another.  I do appreciate LHQ and will sometimes listen to them now though.

As someone who emphatically likes Mosaiques, allow me to emphatically disagree with your conclusion.

Also add Mr Hurwitz to this list. He loves the Mosaiques and hates the LHQ.

I don't know how new/recent they are, but the mysterious cluster of labels under "OutThere" seems vital. Astree, Arcana, Fuga Libra, Analekta, Alpha. Then there's Artalinna, Avie, Dacapo, Tacet, Hanssler profil.

Yes, Dacapo is a long-standing Danish label, not part of the OutThere set that seems to take advantage of French law to spin up small labels and then stop them when momentum runs out.

Dacapo itself has been going through some changes recently that I personally find disappointing. Physical media is not being released for many new recordings. There may also have been a cultural shift within the label that deprioritizes filling in gaps in major 20th-century composers like Nørgård and Sørensen in favour of younger (or much older) voices.
