Most of my favorites have been mentioned above (see also my own post no 3 of this thread). If I were to add some more it would be a recommendation of:

Siegbert Rampe on MDG (playing some reconstructed very interesting original versions)

and

Oliver Fortin on Alpha.

I also do have a particular weakness for Günter Kehr's recording for VOX (1958)

Interesting. I have a recording of Sonnerie, featuring Monica Huge, which includes reconstructions, including a version of the Suite No 2 for oboe instead of flute. I seem to recall not finding it as satisfying as I expected to.

I share the same feelings. Although Gonzalo Ruiz praised the oboe for the second suite, it doesn't seem to work well - at least not in his hands. The recordings that feature a violin in place of the flute appear to be more idiomatic, particularly those by Rampe and by the Apollo Ensemble.

TTT after 9 years!  Now listening to my 'limited' versions (top 3 only with Suzuki added 14 years ago!) Looking on Amazon and see some recordings not mentioned - added only 3 at the bottom.  I'm happy w/ the 'few' owned but curious what 'newer' purchases have been made by others, and what might be your top 3 performances in these works?  Thanks - Dave

What does TTT mean?
If you are interested in listening to orchestrations of solo/chamber music, you might be interested in this thread.
Also looking for recommendations on neglected conductors thread.
