I know and I like it too, but I also like "für Elise" even if it is by far not the most subtle Beethoven work.

That's fair, of course.

Mandryka

#21
Triadic memories
For Samuel Beckett
Neither
String Trio
Turfan Fragments

I'm not so keen on concertos, so the still life music doesn't make my list. And I haven't listened to much very early Feldman.

Turfan Fragments

This is only available on one recording, as far as I know, and is a wonderful work.  Happily, someone uploaded it to YouTube.

I can email the CD to you if you can download, let me know. The "For Samuel Beckett" on it is interesting too. Different.

I haven't heard 5.
Well I have but only a few more than once. (And never Coptic Light Nathan.)
Why the hell not?! Just listen to it (MTT version is great!). Such a beautiful, hypnotic, and interesting work! It does have a hint of Ligeti to me (this might not at all be the best way of convincing you to hear it), but I still think you'd like it.
Beethoven's Op. 133 -- A fugue so bad that even Beethoven himself called it "Grosse".

Better still:  "... echoes of the Mennin Eighth!"

Can you suggest some highlights?

I supposed all except segment 28.  ;)

Washes of La mer . . . .
...and soaked in an Elgar-infused marinade seasoned with Webern and Ives.

So much for that. Now he'll never hear it...

"I double dog dare you to try Coptic Light!"

I might actually make a serious list this time...

(In no particular order) -

Bass Clarinet and Percussion
For Franz Kline
Neither
Coptic Light
Cello and Orchestra

Probably will be a different list after spending more time with his music.

There's also another recording here: https://archive.org/details/FeldmanMortonSUNYArchive06StringQuartetAndOrchestra I haven't heard either one, although I'm a little suspicious of Petr Kotik and his score fiddling as a rule.

Boring list but:
Neither
Violin & Orchestra
Triadic Memories
The untitled composition for cello and piano
For Samuel Beckett

milk

Today it's
Bunita Marcus
for Philip Guston
Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello
Piano and String Quartet
For Samuel Beckett, for 23 instruments

Neither deserves to be on someone's list, glad it made yours.  For Samuel Beckett is somewhat related, also a good one to mention.

I think I want to change my Beckett to Coptic Light.
