The second one is more meh than terrible, but the first one has enough terrible left over to cover it.

How is the music, by the way? Anyone heard it?

Do what @Harry does: print out different artwork and use it to cover over the official artwork.

As for the music, Beauty Farm is generally good, although I like this Gombert CD less than some of their others.

The Barbireau CD is fairly new. I think among GMH  only @Que has heard it so far.

By Beauty Farm standards, the 2nd in particular is a pleasant surprise.

This is not an endorsement by any means. It just means my eyeballs are singed rather than completely burned.

By no means bad, but there wasn't quite enough bassoon in the painting for me to say, 'Oh, she's holding a bassoon' until I read the text.

It's not the cover per se...

The guy clearly liked his puns.

That doesn't look so bad. By the standard of low-budget error-strewn jazz LP covers, even pretty good.

Puns aren't the best, but there are boatloads of both "Shelly Manne and his Men" and "At the Manne-Hole" (the latter by many artists) albums.

Maybe the combination is pun-heavy?

Well, I was referring to the sexual connotations that phrase might evoke today.

I don't know what kind of people you're hanging out with to get that evocation.

Yeah, that's true. Club called "the Manne-Hole" would be something very different today.  :D

I lived in NYC during the '80s when people often joked about clubs with names like "The Ramrod", so nothing surprises me any more.  :o

Madiel

The Ramrod was a gay bar. So far I'm wondering whether what we have here is a couple of heterosexuals imagining, wrongly, how queers like me actually talk.

Alas, it is a gruesome story!

Ramrod massacre

Back to bad cd or lp covers...so "bad" they're funny:

Asterix at the symphony....

Does "recorded in Europe" give it extra rhapsodicness?

Looks like a budget Greatest Hits.

The work listed is apparently the only one on the disc. That makes the whole disc around 20 minutes.

It's also on-demand CD-R, so I'm guessing this company or series is well-known for uninspiring cover art.

I bet you it's not intended to be a "disc" at all. Designed for streaming.

Frankly there's nothing wrong with it as a basic cover for that purpose.

I have this CD from the same label:

It contains one track lasting 15 minutes. (Yes, really.)

Discogs doesn't even list it (but it does list the record company: Essential Media Mod).

I don't know if this one's been posted already, but I just saw it on the Internets and thought, "What?"
