Kalevala

The album covers that I've seen of Westminster Gold LPs--well, some have been quite bizarre (to put it mildly).

Pardon if posted before.

The names of the conductor and composer are there.  You may have to step back, squint, tilt your phone, etc. The smaller the image, the easier to see,  at least for me.

I like optical illusions, but it doesn't work here.

I only like optical illusions that don't give me headache.  ???

Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

I mean, as a cover of an album, it KIND OF works because there are plenty of covers out there that don't attempt to convey any written information. They just have an image. Probably more common in popular music.

As a cover that conveys information, it's a total failure.

EDIT: It works much, much better if I step a long way away from the computer. Which might be fine for a painting on a wall. For something shown on a phone or on a CD case held in the hand, it's not fine.

This should come complimentary with a few Tylenol pills.

What a nightmare of a cover.

Not necessarily ugly, but terribly annoying (though I could make out the letters).
I would never consider acquiring this recording due to the artwork.

I saw the names right away, but I first saw it as a thumbnail.

While the days of flipping through CDs at a music stores are largely gone, it's easy to imagine someone encountering this disc and passing it by without knowing what it is because they didn't look at the back cover or the spine. (To say nothing of simply not liking the cover.)

I'm curious how it looks in person, so to speak. We've established that size and distance are factors here, and as such we're not all seeing the same thing as some of us are large screens and some on small ones. I'm curious how obvious the names are on the actual CD.

But not so curious that I'm going to order it.

See, the cover didn't give me any notion it was The Rite of Spring.

Store owners would be wise to shelve that one backwards.

Indeed. I saw it fairly easily by squinting, but only because I was told there was something to see by squinting. If I saw it on a store shelf, I probably wouldn't guess there was hidden text, and I'd flip it over anyway.

Actually, as long as it is not seen exactly the size of a CD case any comment is moot.  ;D

I was hoping you would do this.   I always have enjoyed your reproduction of album artworks!

How many CD stores still exist?

No idea. I still support a couple.
