Romeo's socks...Juliet's bikini tan-line....

I can cope with Juliet's pale derrière, but those socks...

Did we already do these covers in the thread?  :-\

Nope.

Quote from: Moonfish on July 27, 2015, 03:19:31 PMHaydn on acid? I do not quite picture Haydn in these undulating colors.

and many more....

Golly.

I've never seen those covers before – and I'm not sure I want to see them again.

I'd recently been enjoying the artwork of Alan Aldridge, and thought his stuff was trippy, but those Haydn covers...

Hmm, there seem to be some strong similarities!!!

Terry Gilliam, maybe?

Wow. My first thought was, "That's so... noticeable."

And with regards to the cover being Gilliam-esque, I reckon that's Very Terry™.

The Westminster Gold series really was improbably bad. A few more beyond the ones above and the half dozen others earlier in this thread:

Are they playing squash with tennis raquets? Which one is Bach?

Took me a second to get the would-be-joke: Barber. The violin is ready for a shave. Oh dear.

"Ayres". Geddit?

"not respectful of Beethoven" seems to be the message this octet wishes to convey.

Anyone?

I think she meant that she digs Mozartkugeln....

I don't know. And I don't wanna know.

I'm a lover of puns, but that, for me, is one of the lamest puns I've seen on an album cover.

For a decent pun on an album cover, try Moving Pictures by rock band Rush...

"Oh dear" is right. I didn't get the pun until you pointed it out. That's atrocious.

"Ayres". Geddit?

I got it. But I didn't want it.

Yep. Possibly even "contemptuous".

Anyone?

That is incomprehensible. My brain is having a hard time trying to figure that one out.

Update: Nope. No idea.

This is one of those cases where I look at the cover and utter the phrase that a lot of young people say nowadays: "I can't even."

Related to the film "Easy Rider"?   :P

I thought the motorcyclist might have been Evel Knievel:

But the Easy Rider reference sounds about right.

This series of covers (i.e., "I Dig [composer's name]") feels like they're late-'60s*, so the Easy Rider reference would be spot-on.

(*The I Dig Mozart cover has the woman holding a placard saying "I Hate War" which, I'm guessing, would be a direct reference to the Vietnam War.)

Though this one is trying its best to be ridiculous, I actually kinda like the idea that we're imbibing the fruits of Bach's genius, or something:

This one was mentioned earlier in the thread, but I think without explanation:

I'm wondering now if it's something about Brahms being a lifelong bachelor, who needed a wife's care, and a greasy fry-up was the "Best Of Brahms' cooking ability".

I think it's inexplicable.

Yes, it really makes one think about Brahms, eh?  Go figure!

Everybody knows you don't fry eggs in a cast iron skillet. They stick. Easily the best for steak though.  ;D

Ordinarily I like or love Aeon's cover photos (all by the same photographer, I believe), but these were some misfires:

Pat B

There's nothing horribly wrong with this one:

Which makes me wonder why somebody at BMG decided to do... this:

The designers got mixed up, while working on the new Paul McCartney compilation at the same time. Or had a rejected concept they didn't want to waste:

With both of those covers, all I can think of is: "jazz hands".
