Hello all,

On Twitter, I heard someone say good things about Christian Blackshaw's Mozart cycle on Wigmore hall. Sampled them, and... hm... maybe the first sonata is a nice performance, but kv 570, 311, all a bit "too" much performer and too little of Mozart... I've put the CD's on:

What is your opinion about these recordings?

I wonder why The Wigmore Hall decided to release those recordings. As far as I can hear the music making is not particularly inspiring. Maybe it was vanity publishing. Or maybe Mozart CDs are always profitable no matter who's playing.

Is Blackshaw well known to piano people?

I feel the original ones are still the best feeling, but Blackshaw's recordings are also very charismatic and full of techniques. We should sometimes renew the old ones.  :)
