Parents recommended me this, it is indeed hilarious.
Not super familiar with the game that it's based on, only played it for a few hours with my friend, but not the whole thing.
Probably will remind people of older cartoons from the 50's or so, but it reminds me more of the older favorites from the 90's, like Animaniacs or Pinky and the Brain (elementary school days for me).

Yep, Beaky Blinders is one the best out there, especially if you like crime stories.

For my part I've been catching up with Ozark, another great crime show.  I've just finished season 3 and 4.

Someone tell me what the first episode of the new series of "Killing Eve" was all about as I have not a clue!

Might give Peaky Blinders a try in the near future - but now on Reacher, about half way through the first season and enjoying - recommended a few pages back - brief description of the main character below - just 8 episodes, renewed for a second season (and assume a different 'adventure').  Dave

That show, seriously, is a catalogue of great & shady characters and superb acting throughout. Alfie Solomons is my personal favourite character. Tom Hardy steals the scenes every time he appears.

The tributes to Polly/Helen McCrory in the first episode were beautifully handled too, I thought.

Tom Hardy will steal the scene always given half a chance, superb actor. Although this is the last series I am told a film is in the pipeline. I hope so.

From what I have read, the current and last series is meant to run until 1939. I think they are broadcasting only part of the last series for now (5 or 6 episodes I believe?) and the rest will follow later in the year. Also read a film was definitely on the cards but not sure what it will be covering.

Talking of great actors, I look forward to seeing how Stephen Graham will fit in this series and with which role. Maybe a teaser towards a bigger role in the movie?

I did not know that, Olivier. Stephen Graham seems to feature in all the big UK TV productions currently. A "hard man" personified will be a perfect fit.

Helen McCrory is a big miss.

Finished episode 3 yesterday. Excellent so far ! 93% approval on Rotten tomatoes.

« Firstly, I enjoyed Fallet a lot. It's a fabulous parody/pastiche of many the Scandi, British and other country's crime shows that you may have watched and loved. Certainly if you love the genre you will get far more out of this show and its comedy.

We have the classic trope of a dysfunctional pairing of the two main cop characters, from two different countries as well (sound familiar). Much is made of the differences in police procedures and also the way a station is "run". Cops who have a troubled past, "family" issues which haunt them (literally). One cop who has absolutely no control over their trigger finger and another who is definitely socially awkward. Social awkwardness is a strong comedic tool throughout this show, so cringe, and laugh.

The station chief is a mild-mannered chap who tries hard to up-to-date with the latest correct procedures etc.

We have the office buffoon who is only there because of a family connection. He isn't Catarella from Inspector Montalbano but the nods are there. The pathologist, a Finn (there's an in-joke there which is shamelessly milked) is hilarious.

There are exciting car chases, shoot outs, wandering around in dark, atmospheric buildings searching for baddies. The homage to Saga and Martin/Henrik sitting in the car is a classic! There is also a recognisable serial killer motivation and scenario.

Fallet only has a single season, which is a shame in many ways, however, for what we get it works really well and has a perfectly satisfactory ending. Highly recommended if you enjoy comedy and want to watch something lighter that is still within the crime genre. It is very funny (and quite rude) in places. »

Vikings: Valhalla.  I watched one episode of the original Vikings show a few years ago but never kept going.  Now that Netflix picked it up and upped its budget, I gave the newest season a shot.  Inspired by true events - the English killing resident Vikings; Vikings taking revenge; skulduggery in maneuvering for various northern crowns; Leif Erikson kickin' ass (true?) - the show looks good, blending CGI and physical action well, and does an entertaining enough job of portraying ancient lands.  Some of the plot lines are very influenced by GoT, which is fine.  The mostly attractive actors, none more than the gorgeous Laura Berlin as Queen Emma, all do good enough work even if they seem rather too contemporary.  I may very well revisit the earlier show.

The second season of Upload has been released on Amazon Prime. The show is based on the premise that in the future it will be possible to digitize your brain and upload yourself to live in a virtual reality. The show addresses issues of what it means to be human, and has comedic, romantic and criminal elements.

I also watched Vikings: Valhalla.  Pretty good and with many valid historical elements, although Leif Erikson's involvement is totally fictional as far as I can determine.  I liked the Christion-Pagan tension portrayed.

For my part I watched all 6 seasons of Viking.  Frankly thought the original series had the deeper plot and characters, though the earlier series improved over it's run, especially over the first season.

I've been watching Snowpiercer, the series, 3 seasons so far.  I've been quite impressed with plot and characters as well as production values.  Sean Bean is great as the sociopathic 'Joseph Wilford'.

For sure I'm much more impressed with the Netflix series than the original movie, Snowpiercer.  The movie was decent sci-fil flick and I gave it a 7/10;  the series is a solid 8/10, IMHO.
