And the series host, Boris Karloff, plays roles in both parts of this diptych.

Well, it turns out that there is yet another Rex Stout story in common between the two series: "What Happened to April" is based on "Death of a Doxy."

Fun to see Thaao Penghlis, whom I'd only known from the 80's reboot of Mission: Impossible

Enjoyed the first part (reporters investigating....).  Quite clever...must admit though that one could see ahead at times in terms of plot.  ;) Loved that initial bit where Boris is looking at someone familiar.

And don't read this if you don't want a spoiler alert.

A couple of things stuck out for me:  the head of the studio saying negative things about her going from 32 to 38 years old and no longer being sellable (in so many words).

Her royalties and records and ownership being abused by people that she trusted and pacts/double-dealings behind her back (and her losing income as a result of it).

And some other things....including good for people bringing these things up.

Have you watched "Lethal Ladies" yet?  I watched the first segment with Ida Lupino.  Hadn't heard of her before now, but I was very impressed with her acting.  Also interesting to read (via Wiki) about her life and being one of the first women directors.

I've not yet watched "Lethal Ladies," though I have seen perhaps four episodes which she directed. I first heard of her just because her name was in a line of the Firesign Theatre album, Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me the Pliers. She is the only person to act in one Twilight Zone episode ("The Sixteen-millimeter Shrine") and direct another ("The Masks") both of them Serling scripts.

Tangentially, she appeared in two Columbo episodes.
