If you were a 1) pianist, 2) violinist, 3) cellist, 4) other instrumentalist or 5) classical singer and you could only perform 3 pieces for the rest of your life, which ones would they be?

Inspired by this. Let's make it difficult: just 3 works per instrument/voice type and no honorary or other mentions.  $:)

A piano list, off the top of my head:

Beethoven: Piano Sonata op.111
Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 4
Alkan: Douze Études dans tous les tons mineurs, op.39

I do actually play piano, and have a "dream list" of pieces to learn, maybe someday...

top of the list at the moment are

Beethoven Piano Sonata No. 29, Op. 106
Ravel Gaspard de la nuit
Chopin Piano Sonata No. 3, Op. 58

Not sure about having to play just those three for the rest of my life, although that's probably how long they will take to learn anyway....

arpeggio

As an amateur bassoonist I can play only one piece: Stamitz Bassoon Concerto.

If I could play them two and three would be:

Hindemith Bassoon Sonata
Vivaldi Bassoon Concerto No. 1 in Bb major 'La Notte'/RV501

I am not that crazy about the Mozart Bassoon Concerto.  He was only a teenager when he composed and it does not have the polish of his later adult works.  Nothing compared to the Clarinet Concerto.  If I was a clarinetist this would be the number one work on my list.

First of all, a Bach work is mandatory. I think I'd pick Goldberg Variations.

Secondly, I'd like a Beethoven or Mahler work. Op. 111 it is.

Finally, since I will only have three works, one of them need to be very very long! So I'd pick The Ring Cycle.
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.

1) Wohltemperiertes Clavier (cheating :D), Beethoven op. 109, Chopin Etudes op.25
2) Bach d minor partita, Beethoven string quartet op.131, Brahms violin sonata No.1,
3) Bach Cello suites, Schubert quintet C major, Kodaly Solo Sonata
4) Mozart clarinet quintet, Brahms clarinet quintet, Brahms clarinet sonata No.2
5) Matthäuspassion, Schubert Winterreise, Schumann op.39 (Eichendorff-Lieder)
