Don't know how this made its way into my library but I'm glad it did. It's from the 1960 Newport Jazz Fest. The track is actually better than the version above. A lot of the players are the same.

Picked up this 3cd box for pennies not knowing if it duplicated stuff I already had.

Turns out to be recordings made exclusively for radio - "transcriptions" they confusingly call them - unhindered by the time requirements of the standard 78, and quite seperate from his regular studio work for Victor or Columbia.

And fine recordings they are too.
