and (surprised she wasn't mentioned yet) Joanna Newsom, the only songwriter who can, beautifully, explain the difference between a meteor and a meteorite – and make it rhyme.

She's THE lyrical genius of our time. I know some people couldn't stand her earlier voice but I thought it fit her older songs perfectly, while the newer stuff is just mind-bogglingly good.
